You can print custom trading cards online at TCGPrintery. Upload your own fronts and backs, choose your card size, paper and finish, then review the layout before ordering. You can start with one card or prepare a complete deck.
If you are deciding where to print, look beyond the first price you see. The right choice depends on how you want the cards to feel, how much control you need over the artwork and how many copies you want. Here is a practical way to compare the options and place your first order.
What are your options for printing custom cards?
Printing at home
A home printer can help you test rules, check a layout or try several versions quickly. Paper inserts in sleeves can be useful while a design is changing. You will need to handle cutting, alignment and the front-to-back setup yourself. The result depends on your printer, paper and finishing tools.
Using a local print shop
A local printer may be a good option if you want to discuss the project in person. Ask whether they can produce individual cards, print both sides, cut the corners and offer the stock you need. Explain the finished size, number of different designs and copies of each so the quotation reflects your actual deck.
Ordering from a specialist online card printer
A card-focused online service lets you organise artwork, choose card-specific options and review the project in one place. At TCGPrintery, you can upload your files to the designer and check the fronts, backs, crop and quantities before ordering. Our how-to guides explain the controls in more detail.
What to check before choosing a card printer
- Finished size: does it match your layout and the sleeves or storage you plan to use?
- Paper and finish: can you compare actual material examples rather than relying on a digital effect?
- Minimum quantity: can you test a small project before ordering more?
- Artwork control: can you check both sides, bleed, crop and individual copies?
- Complete cost: what does your chosen configuration cost with delivery to your address?
Compare the same specification between services. A plain card and a foil card are different products, and a single design repeated many times is different from a deck with many unique fronts.
Choose the format for your project
Start with the dimensions your artwork was made for. TCGPrintery's Order Now page offers Standard at 63 × 88 mm, Japanese at 59 × 86 mm and Tarot at 70 × 120 mm. Choosing the correct format first helps you avoid cropping a tall illustration into a shorter card later.
For familiar trading-card proportions, open the Standard card designer. If you are preparing a gift, character collection or original game, make sure the chosen shape leaves enough room for readable text.
How much does custom card printing cost?
Your price depends on the selected format, paper, finish and quantity. Use the current pricing shown in the designer for your actual project, then review the complete checkout total with delivery. A headline price alone cannot tell you what your particular deck will cost.
Here are example prices per card for the Standard 63 × 88 mm format, checked on 2 November 2026. VAT is included; shipping is separate. These are the displayed full prices, without a discount code.
| Card quantity | Standard stock | Black Core | Holo Foil | Partial Foil |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | €1.60 | €1.85 | €2.25 | €2.70 |
| 10 | €0.90 | €1.05 | €2.00 | €2.60 |
| 25 | €0.85 | €1.00 | €1.20 | €1.45 |
| 50 | €0.80 | €0.90 | €1.10 | €1.35 |
| 100 | €0.65 | €0.75 | €0.95 | €1.15 |
| 250 | €0.55 | €0.70 | €0.80 | €0.95 |
| 500 | €0.50 | €0.70 | €0.75 | €0.90 |
| 1,000 | €0.50 | €0.70 | €0.70 | €0.85 |
Standard stock reaches €0.50 per card from 500 cards. At 1,000 cards, the printing total is €500 for Standard stock, €700 for Black Core or Holo Foil, and €850 for Partial Foil.
Cards of the same size and paper type count together across decks in your cart. Check the current pricing for the configuration you choose; these examples should not be applied to other formats.
For delivery within Germany, shipping is €4.90 below five cards and free from five cards. For all other countries, the displayed shipping charge is €9.90 per order, with free shipping from €50. For example, one Standard-stock card delivered in Germany totals €6.50: €1.60 for printing plus €4.90 shipping. Review the actual checkout total before paying.
How to order your custom trading cards
1. Upload your artwork
Open your chosen format, select Add cards and choose Upload files. JPG, PNG, WebP and PDF files are supported. Use original artwork files rather than screenshots of a design on your screen, which may crop the image or reduce its detail.
Prepare images at 300 dpi at the intended print size or higher, and inspect any resolution warnings. Enlarging a small file will not restore missing detail. Our print-ready files guide explains how to prepare dimensions, resolution and bleed.

2. Set the backs and materials
Choose a shared back for your deck or assign different backs where needed. You can use the white TCGPrintery card back or upload your own. Check every pairing if your project includes double-sided cards or several back designs.
Compare the available stock and foil options on our quality and materials page, then select the configuration in the designer. A sparkle illustrated in an image remains part of the printed artwork. For a surface that reflects light as you tilt the card, review the actual foil options.
3. Review the cards and quantities
Inspect the fronts and backs before continuing. Look at the edges as well as the centre: names, symbols and important details need space inside the cut line. Bleed extends the artwork beyond that line and should not contain essential text. Very narrow borders can make small cutting differences more noticeable.
Check how many copies of each design you selected and how many complete decks you are ordering. Two copies of a 60-card deck should mean 120 cards in total. Confirm the displayed count, current price and delivery details before completing checkout.
Make your first order a useful test
If you are uncertain about your layout or finish, begin with a small order. Include a representative design with the kind of text, dark areas and detail you plan to use throughout the deck. Seeing it in your hand helps you assess readability, the card back and the material together.
Keep the original files and note the options you selected. If you want changes before ordering more, you will know which artwork or configuration to adjust.
